Beginners Guide to Public Fursuiting Events

This panel explores the planning and special considerations that organizers may want to make when planning a public fursuit outing.

Hosting an event where attendees may interact with the general public comes with a number of unpredictable variables that planners should do their best to account for, and this panel hopes to identify some of that unpredictability and propose ways to best address them while promoting positive relationships with the communities we engage with, and ensuring the health and safety of attendees of the event.

It will also discuss import topics pertinent to event organizers such as safety planning, public relations, and promoting new events.

The topics and best practices proposed in this panel are our findings based on hosting numerous public fursuit outings, such as the DC FurRide, fursuit-friendly movie showings, and various photo meets.

Attendees are encouraged to share their own experiences hosting public outings and ask questions about how to prepare for the best possible event.
