Accessibility Information Page

Accessibility is very important to us at New Years Furry Ball. We aim to do our best to provide a fun and safe experience for all of our attendees. If there are any concerns about the accessibility of our event, don’t hesitate to contact us at nyfbaccessibility@gmail.com ! We would love to hear from you.

General Hotel Accessibility

Wheelchair and other mobility aid users should ALWAYS be given priority access to elevators. If you are struggling with getting on the elevator due to traffic please bring it to a volunteer's attention and we will ensure you get priority access.

We ask that able bodied folks and non-fursuiters opt for the stairs when going between the lobby and event spaces to insure the safety and comfort of those who physically cannot take the stairs.

Hotel Room Accommodations

There are ADA rooms available to attendees who wish to stay with us at the Doubletree. There are limited ADA rooms, so we suggest that anyone hoping to get an ADA room does so as soon as possible so our hosts at the Doubletree can accommodate you appropriately.

All ADA rooms come with a roll in shower for wheelchair accessibility.

ADA rooms are available by booking through the link provided during registration.

Line Accessibility

If you are unable to wait in line and/or stand for long periods due to a disability or medical concern please ask one of our volunteers or line coordinators to have them escort you to the front of the line or provide you with a chair while you wait. Mobility aid users are welcome to speak to a staff member and be escorted to the front of the line as well.

Food Allergy Accommodations

This year NYFB is switching from a sit down dinner to the Manager’s reception & snack bar. The snack bar will be available to all guest when it is open, it is a mix of packaged & prepared foods.

While we are working with the hotel to try to accommodate major allergies, there is always a risk of cross-contamination in environments with lots of people. We highly encourage caution for those with allergies.

If you have a severe food allergy or any other concerns, please reach out to us. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
